Dr. Burns graduated from the University of New Orleans in Biological Sciences in 1985.
He graduated from United States Sports Academy with a Master of Sports Medicine, Cum Laude in 1987, and graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic with a Doctorate of Chiropractic, Cum Laude in 1991.
Dr. Burns has served in the following roles:
Athletic trainer for Tulane University in 1985-1987
Team Physician for John Curtis Christian School from 1991-2011
Chiropractic Physician for Mackey Shilstone’s team PEP from 2008-2011
Team Doctor for Coors Light Volleyball tour in 2000
Chiropractic Physician for the 1992 Olympic Field Trials at Tad Gormley
Chiropractic Physician for exhibition sports for Atlanta Olympics in 1996
Dr. Burns has been delivering health care in Jefferson Parish for 27 years
He is a Family Practitioner and specializes in sports injuries and injury prevention. Dr. Burns utilizes various chiropractic techniques and physiotherapies, as well as cutting edge neuromuscular education therapies to prevent injuries. Dr. Burns will administer different soft tissue techniques, as well as Dry needling, joint mobility, cupping, and chiropractic adjustments to elevate patients to a pain free and enjoyable quality of life.
